Pencil Finance has launched the first on-chain capital solution for student loans, marking a significant milestone in blockchain-powered educational financing. The platform deployed an initial $1 million loan bundle on July 10, 2025, targeting underserved markets in the Philippines and Indonesia through its innovative real-world-asset protocol.

The initiative, co-developed with Animoca Brands and HackQuest, introduces a decentralized model where liquidity providers can participate in loan pools with fixed or variable return options. ErudiFi, a regional education financing specialist, serves as the primary distribution partner for the capital deployment.
